Our test run began at the show docks, heading out from the Miami Beach Convention Center through the bustling waters of Biscayne Bay. The journey took us under the West Venetian Causeway Bridge and MacArthur Causeway, past the superyachts docked at Island Gardens Marina and the massive cruise ships at the Port of Miami on Dodge Island. We navigated by Brickell Key, under the Rickenbacker Causeway, and finally into the open Bay west of Virginia Key and Key Biscayne, a well-known testing ground for marine journalists and boat manufacturers alike.
With moderate chop providing ideal conditions for a stabilization test, the captain deliberately positioned the boat so we were taking waves on the beam, causing noticeable rolling. Then, with the flick of a switch, the DG3 engaged, and the rolling stopped instantly. The contrast was staggering—without stabilization, the movement was pronounced, but with the DG3 activated, the boat rode smooth and level.
