European Powerboat of the Year Awards 2013: The Candidates
There are plenty of new boats on exhibit at the boat shows, but which ones are a cut above the rest? The European Powerboat of the Year contest seeks to answer that question.
January 16, 2013
As the European Yacht of the Year contest for sailboats moves forward, so does a parallel contest for European Powerboat of the Year 2013, with competition among 25 nominated boats. The expert jury consisted of editors form the following magazines: Barche a Motore (Italy), Båtliv (Norway), Boote (Germany), Marina CH (Switzerland), Neptune (France) and Yachtrevue (Austria).
The candidates were split into five categories for thorough inspection and testing before they were judged with the help of a specially formulated scoring system. Key criteria include performance, comfort, safety, interior arrangements, and value.
During Flagship Night, hosted by Delius Klasing (publisher of the magazines YACHT and Boote, which are in charge of the respective contests), the class winners will be announced on stage at the Dusseldorf Boat Show before the overall winner of of European Powerboat of the Year 2013 is announced.
