LITTLE FALLS, Minn. — Although the runabout powerboat market predominantly leans to stern-drive power, there are buyers who still prefer outboard engines — particularly today's sophisticated low-emission outboard engines. For the 2002 model year, Larson will offer two outboard-powered models, the SEi 190 O/B and the SEi 210 O/B. Both are being built using the VEC (Virtual Engineered Composites) process, an automated closed-mold system that reportedly enhances boat-building precision and efficiency, while reducing manufacturing emissions.
Measuring 18'6"-long, the SEi 190 O/B can handle outboards up to 150 horsepower. The 20'6"-long SEi 210 O/B is rated for outboards up to 175 horsepower. The foundation for each boat is a 21-degree deep-V hull.
Both models come standard with a Sport interior package, which includes bucket seats for the driver and co-pilot and a bench seat and a sunpad aft. Among the helm station highlights is a tilt steering wheel and full instrumentation. Other standard features of the SEi 190 O/B and SEi 210 O/B include stowage compartments under the bench and bow seats, a draining glove box/cooler in the port console, a swim platform on each side of the motor well and a boarding ladder.
A Clarion Marine CD stereo system is offered as an option. Additional options include a tow pylon, a Bimini top, docking lights, an air compressor (for filling inflatable water toys) and pull-up cleats.
