img203Lewmar has introduced two new Thrusters, the 250TTH and the 300TTH, to their TT tunnel thrusters range.

Lewmar is already a leading supplier of high quality thrusters in the custom boat market. The TT range, whose electric models were launched last year, has already proved to be a huge success, and the addition of these two hydraulic sizes will offer an increased choice.

The Hydraulic TTs are the perfect solution for larger vessels. when longer duration of operation is required. The Hydraulic TTs are usually powered from an engine take-off or auxiliary generator pump. This enables the Thruster to run for long durations, as well as giving extremely high levels of thrust

The hydraulic versions also are advantageous where weight and space are a problem.

The 250TTH is suitable for craft to 80ft (25m) and the 300TTH for craft up to 95ft (30m)

The TT range, initially aimed at the OEM market, offers a number of innovations in a product area in which differentiation has been increasingly hard to achieve.

Installation time is significantly reduced through a unique "cassette" seal developed for the range, which allows the hub (gearbox) to be installed without the need for installation of a separate oil reservoir. A splined drive dispenses with the need for problematic drive pins, and an improved saddle design further contributes to the reduction in fitting time.

Maintenance is also significantly easier. The cassette seal eliminates contamination and leaks, and with it the need for oil top-ups.

The new TT Hydraulic Thrusters both use Lewmar five blade props, developed using the latest 3D CAD technology, and proven in tank tests. The twin counter rotating design gives superior performance and quiet operation with less turbulence and improved water flow.
