Merced, Calif. — Malibu Boats has been selected by General Motors to produce the new Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V towboat. When released next year, the Corvette-styled water sports boat will be the third-generation Corvette offering from Malibu.
Officials at General Motors contracted with Malibu to create the C4 and C5 versions of the boat a decade ago. Now, the builder will use advanced technologies to make the new Corvette boat even more impressive than its stunning predecessors, according to a press release from Malibu.
Based on the 2008 C6 Corvette, the new boat will be available in Coupe and Z06 editions. The Z06 package will include the 512-hp 7.0L, LS7 engine, which pumps out 637 foot-pounds of torque. The engine will be branded with the Z06 emblems, as will the wheels for its custom-branded trailer.
The new model is scheduled to be unveiled at the Malibu Boats 2007 dealer meeting in November.
