Polaris MSX 150: PWC Report
Polaris MSX 150: Polaris perfects the four-stroke PWC.
March 12, 2003

With its 150 hp (and maximum 7,500 rpm), the MSX 150 has the most "get up and go" of any PWC in the MSX line.
The Polaris MSX 150 offers an advanced turbo-charged four-stroke engine and a spectacular new design for 2003. The elegant silver metallic finish and strikingly modern lines give the craft an opulent look that picks up the colors of whatever waters you're dashing across.
The MSX 150 is a mid-size PWC capable of carrying up to three people, with a total weight capacity of 565 pounds.
The Polaris Liberty Marine HO Turbo four-stroke engine is the biggest innovation on the MSX 150. This turbocharged engine has a liquid-cooled exhaust system and a Turbo PLANET sound reduction system.
With its 150 hp (and maximum 7,500 rpm), the MSX 150 has the most "get up and go" of any PWC in the MSX line. It delivers plenty of torque, for superior acceleration and towing performance — and it was built for agile handling at high speeds.
A Bosch multi-port EFI system keeps the craft running efficiently on 87-89 octane unleaded gasoline. In fact, the MSX 150 is one of the cleanest, quietest boats on the water, meeting California ultra-low emission standards.
The Polaris PLANET (Polaris Low Acoustic Noise Exhaust Technology) system is also incorporated into the MSX 150. The PLANET system includes tuned resonators that suppress exhaust and cancel out noise frequencies, reducing sound pressure levels by more than 60 percent.
The seamlessly integrated cockpit instrumentation provides clear digital and analog readings on all vital functions at a glance and delivers new information with the touch of a button on the handlebar. The Polaris ESP (Enhanced Steering Performance) system provides steering assistance for additional maneuverability in off-throttle and off-power steering situations.
Amazingly, the designers at Polaris have managed to squeeze in more than 33 gallons of storage space on the MSX 150 — so you'll have plenty of room for beverages, beach gear and other necessities. Plus, there's a cargo net for holding cellular phones and sunglasses.
Attention to detail is evident from the hood and shroud's pearlescent paint and the body's beautiful metallic gelcoat to the chrome instrument pod and hood marque. Stainless steel fasteners, a translucent smoked windscreen and diamond-cut non-slip traction pads complete the look.
Fixed convex mirrors provide excellent rear view without the need for adjustment by riders of varying heights. A convenient patented child grab handle on the steering module provides secure hold for children seated up front.
The sport-bike-inspired styling on the MSX is immediately evident — and entirely apropos. We know of no better way to have the wind in your hair and the water at your feet.
