Raritan’s Marine Elegance is quiet and switches between salt and fresh water sources.

Normally, we use saltwater to flush heads on a boat to conserve our fresh water tanks.  But you may notice a sulfur or rotten egg smell when you come back to the boat after a few days and flush.  The microorganisms in stagnant saltwater begin to decompose in the pump and hoses and can get really stinky.  So Raritan came up with the Marine Elegance electric head which can flush with seawater to conserve onboard water, and then rinse with fresh so everything smells sweet for the next time you’re aboard.

Marine Elegance has a one-piece vitreous china bowl and full-size toilet seat and uses Raritan’s Vortex-Vac Flush technology which makes it quiet – only 63 decibels.  Specially-designed holes under the bowl rim deliver better rinsing capabilities with less water and a unique discharge loop helps eliminate odors and permits the bowl to hold water similar to home toilets.

With its heavy-duty motor coated with epoxy paint, the powerful head can pump 10' vertically and 100' horizontally.  A built-in shredder with stainless steel blades breaks waste up into small particles to reduce clogs.  The programmable, wall-mounted Smart Flush controller provides four flush options to conserve water and extend the useful capacity of the holding tank and it also allows water to be added to the bowl before use. The head can be flushed normally, with a low-water option or with an empty-only function.

The Marine Elegance is available in tall and standard bowl styles with a straight or angled back for easy installation in tight spaces.  It come in a choice of colors including white or bone, is available in 12V and 24V versions, and retails for $1,360.  For more information viisit the Raritan website.
