The NS25's split-screen-viewing capability enables users to read both sonar and navigation information at the same time.

No one navigation unit can "do it all," but the NS25 sonar/GPS from Techsonic (parent company of Humminbird) can do a lot. The easy-to-operate-and-understand unit is a fully functional chart plotter and depthsounder/fishinder. The GPS setup incorporates a SatMax antenna, which is integrated with a 12-channel receiver for superior satellite tracking ability. The NS25 supports differential GPS for better accuracy when needed.

Simultaneous presentation of depthsounding and navigation information is quick and smooth. According to literature from the manufacturer, this capability is largely due to the unit's 32-bit Motorola Power PC microprocessor.

The NS25's LCD display boasts excellent clarity. Split-screen viewing enables users to read both sonar and navigation information at the same time. The unit's single-key selection design makes for an easy transition between sonar and navigation views if desired.

For detailed charting, the NS25 is designed to handle two C-Map NT C-cards simultaneously and has a built-in background world map. Navigation views can be customized to a viewer's preference. Also, in the GPS mode, the NS25 can store the position and depth of underwater structure visible in the sonar mode.

The NS25 is designed with 250 permanent waypoints, 50 temporary waypoints and 20 routes. It has a PSTOR key for instant and permanent position information storage, as well as a GOTO key for quick and easy navigation to waypoints.
