About the Author of Cruising Compass


George Day is the Publisher and Editor of Blue Water Sailing magazine, which
he founded following the completion of a five-year circumnavigation aboard
his Mason 43 Clover. Blue Water Sailing is now the leading authority on
offshore sailing, world cruising and the cruising life. Prior to his
circumnavigation, George was Editorial Director of Cruising World and
Sailing World magazines. He is the author of the books Safety At Sea, The
Well-Managed Sailboat and Out There (co-author). George has sailed and
cruised more than 100,000 miles in the last 30 years.
