Switch On
Livorsi's new clamp-on switch puts trim control at your fingertips
August 16, 2001

Livorsi Marine's clamp-on trim switch gives drivers fingertip control of multiple stern drives and trim tabs.
Running fast in rough-water requires performance-boat drivers to make constant throttle adjustments, often in milliseconds. That means keeping one hand on the throttle or throttles at all times — something that's awfully hard to do without trim-control on the steering wheel or throttle handle. While some drivers still choose trim-on-the-wheel control, trim-on-the handle has become popular in recent years.
Continuing the trim-on-the-throttle push is Livorsi Marine. The Grayslake, Illinois, manufacturer of high-performance aftermarket products already offered throttles with drive-trim control built into the thumb position. To give drivers more control and additional placement options, the manufacturer has added a clamp-on trim switch that can be used with either Gaffrig or Mercury throttles.
The switch can be used to control multiple stern drives and trim tabs. Front-mounting the switch enables it to be used in right- or left-hand configurations. Up to four switches — two for drives and two for tabs — can be added.
All of the new clamp-on switches are manufactured from billet aluminum and are offered in either black or white.
