The Boat Show Radio Network
www.boatshowradio.net
L.J. Wallace calls himself a "maniacal boatnick & radio buccaneer" and he often lives up to his billing. His entertaining and informative boating radio show is currently broadcast on just eight stations across the USA, but you can tune into a live webcast Saturdays from 7-9 am ET.

Speedvision: Marine
www.speedvision.com/marine
You'll want to pop a tape in the VCR or set Tivo to catch the boating programming on this 24-hour motor sports cable channel. The Powerboat Show, for example, is broadcast on weekday mornings at 10:30 am ET. Generally, boating on TV can be a snore. But Ship Shape TV, a long-running boat maintenance and improvement show, is worth a look.

This site claims to be "The Internet's Most Complete Marine Weather Source". It's possible. You'll find hundreds of links to current US regional and worldwide forecasts, clickable maps and a zip code forecast search. There's also a handy online float plan form.

HarborTides.com

BOAT PLANS
============
boatdesign.net
www.boatdesign.net
This site is boatbuilding central. Power and sail, small and large, you'll find sources for plans, design software, schools and more. Message boards feature discussions on boat design, construction and education and there's a calendar of boatbuilding and related events.

Dave Carnell's Boatbuilding Page
home.att.net/~DaveCarnell
Dave Carnell says he's a retired chemical engineer who has been "messing about in boats for well over 50 years." For $20, he'll sell you a plan to build a 15' sailing skiff for $200 and it's real cute. But right up front, Dave cautions, "to build this boat for $200 you would have to be a real improviser and scrounger." His suggestions for killing wood rot in the boat you've already got are much more realistic.
