With a suggested retail price of $899, the MK20 Chart Navigator from Leica Geosystems features a 12-channel GPS receiver in a rugged splashproof display housing. The MK20 also boasts a sunlight-readable,
5.6-inch transflective black-and-white screen and a low-profile marine patch-type antenna. The unit can accept two C-MAP NT chart cartridges, a feature that gives it twice the geographical coverage of single-cartridge models.

The system includes a bi-directional serial data port for interfacing with an external marine electronics device. It also has an NMEA-0183 autopilot output and RTCM-SC-104 DGPS input port toaccept error correction data from an optional external beacon receiver.

Software for MK20 is similar to the software used in the
MK30 color GPS chart plotter. Operation is simple and intuitive. Waypoints and routes can be entered and altered quickly
with on-screen point-and-click functions. The chart display can be
shown in north-up, course-up or heading-up orientation. When interfaced
with the boat's depthsounder, depth data can also be displayed.

Users can select from six display languages. The unit runs on 12-32 VDC power and draws a maximum of 11 watts at fullillumination.
