FOR SALE 1977 Gulfstar 37 Aft-Cockpit sailboat “Sirenia” This is a rare single-family boat. Originally custom fitted out by Ted Hood himself, it has been owned, since new, by a single family of professional mariners and yachtsmen. This trusted and proven bluewater boat has called Marblehead, MA; Boothbay, ME, and now Lake Champlain, her ports of call and has ventured to the Bahamas, Florida, most of the Atlantic seaboard, the islands, and New Zealand, to name a few. We love this boat. We are sad to see her go, but she deserves to be used and sailed and enjoyed more than we are currently. We want to see her go to a good home where she will be loved and cared for and maintained- and sailed. Don’t be fooled. Gulfstar made a number of motor-sailers and other boats that are not considered good sailors. This is not one of them. The 37 is a true fin-keeled, skeg hung rudder sloop with above average sailing performance for its age and size. This is a cruiser’s, couple/family boat. Huge cockpit and cockpit lockers; roomy salon and head, comfortable stateroom. Tons of storage. Wide beam carried aft, comfortable in heavy seas and higher breeze.
