ZING!! is HULL #1 of the popular Uniflite 42 DC (double cabin) model. And she’s been loved and cared for since coming off the production line in Bellingham in 1971. This sturdy, comfortable, and well laid out boat, with a mostly original interior, carries a great “retro” vibe, but with updates and upkeep that make her feel like she's new.
Stepping aboard Zing!! feels like stepping back in time. Everything is either original or has been installed/repaired with a nod towards the original design. At the same time, she is a modern and well-loved boat with not a hint of stale or musty neglect. Her teak interior and new teak and holly sole give a warm and cozy feel through every inch of her. All components and comfort systems work flawlessly. All work has been done professionally throughout her history and the boat is in rare condition. The 42 Double Cabin has long been a sought-after model, with its full width aft deck, wide open layout, and rugged construction. Built from a solid, heavy fiberglass layup (pre-blister issues), ZING!! gives an exceptionally safe and smooth ride. She comfortably cruises at 8-9 knots, but she'll do something few other cruisers in this class can do. With her twin 300 HP engines and semi-planing hull, she will get you back to port fast when the weather turns nasty. With a top speed of 16 knots, Zing!! can get up and go when it counts. Should accidents or hard hits happen, you will be the one driving the tank. It'll buff out.
