Description
DESCRIPTION
Contessa 43 n.11 from the prestigious English shipyard Jeremy Rogers 1979 Lymington England designed by Doug Peterson. A series of 15 elegant, fast, and well-built boats arise from the prototype Moonshine, a multi-award-winning boat in international regattas.
External description:
After the 2013 refit, including dismasting, rigging change, and stanchions, the hull was repainted (the underwater part treated with preventive epoxy) and the deck was renewed with only 7 self-tailing winches for maneuvering, a small swim platform at the stern with a ladder to facilitate entry into the cockpit where a new Solimar wheel with plotter and renewed electronics is located at the center of the two benches with lockers, covered in teak. Hatches and light wedges to improve internal brightness on the deckhouse and at the bow an electric winch.
Internal description:
Entry into a very spacious dinette with a C-shaped kitchen on the right, renewed in 2016, complete with fridge, oven, and burners, and ample storage, on the left a chart table and entry to the stern area divided into two cabins, one king size and one double. The spacious dinette features a central extendable table with two opposing sofas and two raised watch berths. After the through mast, the bathroom with ample flooring and a double bow cabin. All the woods have been disassembled and refitted, including the ceilings and upholstery, returning to their original elegance.
A historical note on the construction quality of the Jeremy Rogers shipyard, a Contessa 43 in 1981 participated in the Whitbread Round the World Race as the smallest boat. Moonshine is the only boat in history to have won two Admiral’s Cups with two different nations.
