Lazy Days has been building houseboats since the 1950's and were one of the first to use an aluminum hull, introduced in 1967. The brand is historically significant in the houseboat industry, production was limited, and finding a Lazy Days in this condition can be challenging.

Introducing the 1981 Lazy Days 50, a remarkable houseboat that seamlessly combines comfort and performance. With an overall length of 50 feet, this vessel boasts a sturdy aluminum hull, ensuring durability and stability on the water. Powered by twin Volvo Penta AQ200D engines, each delivering 200 horsepower, it offers an impressive cruising speed of 7 knots at 2250 RPM, making it perfect for leisurely excursions. This used boat has been well-maintained, engine hours show 1688 and 1602, but the current hours are estimated to be around 775hrs of use since both of the engines were replaced in 2006. The inboard/outboard configuration with stern drives enhances maneuverability, making it easy to navigate various waterways and moorings. This boat is also equipped with an onboard Westerbeke 11kw generator.

The 14' beam allows for a full walk around gunwale as well as a roomy salon / dinette space featuring a fireplace, a wet bar, and an interior topside access hatch with a teak ladder. Two stateroom, one head layout. Sturdy aft deck space with all aluminum engine hatches and a large, low bow, sportsman style foredeck that features a sliding glass door, docking lights, and a forward as well as port and starboard boarding gate. Dual helm, dual control flybridge design with a spacious upper party deck. The galley is equipped with a full size refrigerator / freezer, a 4 burner range with oven and hood vent, ample storage and a large stainless steel sink.
