General Description

A restyled version of the company's previous 34-foot convertible (1989-90), the

Silverton 34 Convertible offers contemporary styling, and comfortable

accommodations. She was built on a solid fiberglass hull with more transom

deadrise and slightly more beam than her predecessor.

The generous accommodations provide master stateroom forward, followed aft by

galley to port and enclosed head opposite to starboard. From here steps lead up

and aft to the salon area. The aft patio style bulkhead leads out to the cockpit.

Access to the command bridge is from an S/S ladder secured on the cockpit

bulkhead on the port side.

The V-berth is fully carpeted on deck head and hull sides which also have shelving.

The center opening to the V-berth is fitted with a sliding fabric privacy cover.

Aft of the v-berth, the enclosed head compartment is located opposite, to starboard.

The cabinetry is made of molded fiberglass and there is a manual Jabsco marine

toilet. The molded vanity with a sink has hot and cold pressure water and a separate

shower wand mounted on the aft bulkhead, in the shower enclosure

The U-shaped galley has a counter top with double S/S sinks with hot and cold

pressure water, the microwave oven and the toaster oven, a two-burner

alcohol/electric stove, and a refrigerator on the starboard side. Opposite to the

galley, a dinette provides space for up to four persons.

Up to steps, the port side of the salon has a storage/entertainment unit, and a large

couch is installed on the starboard side.

An Eberspacher Diesel heater installed in the main cabin starboard bilge utility

compartment is connected to composite ducting, providing heated air to all the

accommodation spaces.

The main salon sole panels remove to provide access to the engine room.

The cockpit bulkhead with teak framed windows has a sliding glass/aluminum

framed door giving access to the cabin on the starboard side. A 1" S/S ladder with

teak steps is located on the port side leading up to the command bridge

The foredeck has 1" S/S handrails with welded stanchions, also surrounding the

fiberglass bowsprit, all found well secured. The bowsprit supports the “Bruce”

anchor secured over the integrated S/S anchor bow roller. The rode lead aft to the

Maxwell windlass secured on the deck and operated by up and down foot

Switches or remotely from the flybridge. The winch has both a capstan and a self

tailing gypsy. A rope locker with a hinged fiberglass hatch is secured on the

starboard side of the anchor station. The raised and slightly sloped coach cabin has

a [20" x 20"] escape hatch above the forward cabin.

The command bridge has vinyl-covered seating and it is sheltered by a full canvas

enclosure, with Bimini top supported on 1" S/S framing and fittings, as well as

polycarbonate clear panels on all sides.

The helm station is centered with a vinyl-covered Captain’s pedestal chair and full

engine instrumentation and controls, as noted. Open and closed stowage is

available below the helm station cowling. A PA/ship’s phone with extension in the

main salon is also installed on the fly bridge.

The back of the command bridge has a fiberglass radar arch extending past the

Bimini top. The arch supports the radar dome. The insides of the arch sides have

courtesy lighting and a stereo speaker.

The integral transom has two downrigger pedestals mounted port and starboard,

and it is fitted with a full moulded fiberglass swim grid.

The propulsion power is provided by a pair of Crusader GM 454 inboard gasoline

engines, with Twin Disc reduction gears, 1 1⁄4” stainless steel shafts and four blade

propellers, able to propel the vessel to speeds up to 27 mph, comfortably cruising at

18 mph.
