The Chaparral Vortex 223 VRX is a sporty 22‑foot (about 22′3″) jet‑powered bowrider built for family fun and water sports, seating up to 10 passengers.
Its standout feature is the twin Rotax 1.5L supercharged engines (each producing around 200–250 hp), driving BRP jet units—which deliver exhilarating acceleration and make it safer around swimmers with no exposed propellers.
Testing shows a top speed around 53 mph with sharp handling, minimal chine walk, and strong wake penetration.
Water Sports & Ride Customization
Equipped with Chaparral’s Aerial Surf Platform (ASP) and ballast tanks, the boat allows you to customize your wake for surfing, wakeboarding, or water skiing.
The Vortex Surf System lets you fine‑tune waves—ideal for wakesurfing at slow speeds (~10 mph). Skiing is optimized between 26–34 mph, and wakeboarding around 18–20 mph.
