Aquila is a motor yacht with an overall length of 36.5 m. The yacht's builder is Mengi Yay Yachts from Turkey, who launched Aquila in 2015. The superyacht has a beam of 7.65 m, a draught of 2.1 m and a volume of 235 GT.
Aquila features exterior design by Ginton Naval Architects. Aquila has a wood hull and a wood superstructure. She is powered by 2 x 1925 hp Caterpillar Inc C32 engines, which give her a top speed of 23 kn. The yacht carries 13,100 litres of fuel on board.
The 36.5-meter Mengi-Yay-built superyacht was relaunched at West Istanbul Marina following a nine-month full refit works.
The refit work began in May 2023 with a modest exterior and interior renovation plan. However, these initial updates evolved into a comprehensive refit project, featuring a complete interior redesign, a hull repaint from gold to shades of gray, and various technical enhancements.
The new design combines modern minimalism with classic nautical touches, including striped upholstery. İbrahim Konya and his team oversaw the redesign, incorporating new furniture and details throughout the yacht. Significant additions include a new games room on the upper deck and state-of-the-art large-screen TVs on both the upper and main decks.
On the technical side, the engines and generators were overhauled, all electrical systems were renewed and updated, and new navigation equipment was installed.
M/Y Aquila was originally designed by Ginton Naval Architects in 2015, featuring a distinctive “shark-like” exterior, and was built by Mengi-Yay Yachts. Her key specifications include a length overall (LOA) of 37 meters, a beam of 7.7 meters, a draft of 2.1 meters, and a maximum speed of 23 knots.

Manufacturer Provided Description
The hull and top structure of the boat of which construction began in July month of 2013 year and constructed as RINA class is wood. In hull of boat, 3 layers of cross coating were used. The keel, wale and posts of the boat were printed in epoxy-laminate system. All the used ply-woods have “marine” certificate. The form of boat is half displacement and the boat rises up to 24 knot speed because of its design characteristic. The boat is rather comfortable even at windy and wavy weather with the effect of its form and stabilizer under its structure. There are 4 guest cabins and 1 master cabin at the boat. The master cabin is lightened with wide glasses at the board side, so it is very spacious. The saloon has a capacity to accommodate large guest communities. A wide place is allocated for the kitchen of boat on the main deck.
