Origins & LegacyFounded in 1973, Blackfin Boats quickly gained a reputation for building rugged, offshore fishing boats that delivered premium performance and craftsmanship.
Known for their smooth-riding deep-V hulls and durable construction, Blackfin became a respected name among serious anglers and offshore boaters throughout the 1980s and ’90s.
In the late 1990s, the brand underwent several ownership changes and faced production slowdowns.
Despite challenges, a small group of dedicated craftsmen continued building Blackfin boats on a limited scale, helping to keep the legacy alive during quieter years.
Enthusiasts continued to praise the older models for their high build quality and solid construction.
In the early 2010s, Blackfin was revitalized with a new vision and management team, focused on restoring the brand’s premium status in the center console and hybrid bay boat markets.
The brand relaunched with a new line of models built using advanced materials, carbon composite construction, and modern design features.
In response to growing demand, Blackfin expanded its Florida manufacturing facility by more than 55,000 sq ft, significantly increasing production capacity.
