Along with their team of renowned naval architects and engineers, Fleming has formulated a completely new design for the fleet, the Fleming 85. The aim for this new model was simply to build the finest ocean-going pilothouse motor-yacht in every respect. Maintaining the classic Fleming look, this new model is available in two distinct versions– an Open Flybridge model, and a new Enclosed Bridge design. With the Enclosed Bridge option, the pilothouse takes over the enclosed upper deck, giving space below for diverse galley arrangements. With true ocean crossing range, superb hull fuel efficiency, and speeds of up to 25 knots– this is the ultimate cruising yacht.

Extensive research, years of development, and obsessive fine tuning has produced one of the most efficient semi-displacement hulls on the water for the Fleming 85. In addition to the hull design, extra attention was applied to the optimum strength to weight ratio of the structure. The robust, overbuilt construction methods expected on a Fleming Yacht are retained and achieved with less total weight – all of which is verified by DNV Maritime. The result is a hull that has been engineered to achieve industry leading fuel economy and world-class range at a size that can accommodate any adventure.

The maximum beam of 21’2” on the Fleming 85 features minimal tapering to aft compared to the Fleming 78, giving the vessel greater width throughout the salon, cockpit, and crew quarters. This added space presents the opportunity for creative new options including a stunning California deck design within the cockpit. With a large built-in settee and mounted table, this arrangement feels like a natural alfresco extension of the salon. Engine room and crew access resides to starboard at the California deck. Down below is the fully stand-up engine room and spacious crew quarters that can accommodate two separate multi-berth cabins, a head, a full kitchenette, and even dedicated crew dining or a laundry area.

Of course, the most notable layout alteration on the Fleming 85 is the option for a fully enclosed flybridge at the upper deck. This Enclosed Bridge layout moves the pilothouse up a level accomplishing superior 360-degree visibility, flexible layout options, and even space for up to three helm chairs. Down below, the extra space opened from the pilothouse moving up gives an opportunity for the ship’s galley to take its spot. This luxurious galley arrangement secretly becomes the star of the show, accommodating a full suite of appliances, plenty of countertop space with a center island, and a large wrap around dinette beneath the vast windows to forward that offer incredible views. In turn, the salon now has more space to stretch its legs with further entertainment customizations and layout options possible.

For those looking to have both a pilothouse and flybridge, the 85 is also available in a more traditional Open Flybridge model. The accommodations of both models are available in three or four stateroom layouts, with either single or double crew cabins. Both 85 models also come equipped with the highest level of equipment and technology throughout. Solar panels above the hardtop top off the ship’s standard lithium-ion batteries, which in turn power the at-rest stabilization of the Humphree fins. Operating the twin MAN V12 – 1550 hp engines of the Fleming 85 has never been easier. In addition to the helm stations, the vessel features another five well-located docking stations equipped with joystick controls and position hold.
