According to the manufacturer, the Mariner — at 5.4" wide, 2.1" high and 4.4" deep — provides 25 watts of transmitting power. It receives all channels, including eight U.S. and two Canadian weather channels. Scan rate is three channels per second. And users have an option to Memory Scan or scan all channels.

Control panel features include a 16/9 channel priority key, and up/down channel selector, an international mode key, precision squelch and volume keys, and a hi/lo 25w/1w power key.

The waterproof mylar speaker is mounted in front for better clarity. The unit also includes a built-in external speaker jack.
