Flying Phantom: First Look Video
Sailing catamarans with both hulls out of the water has become hip since the last America’s Cup. And the trickle-down effect is in full swing with the Flying Phantom.
If there's one thing that has materialized from the latest running of the America's Cup off San Francisco, CA, it's a new demand for foiling catamarans that skim across the water at breakneck speeds. Hoping to satisfy a portion of that demand is Phantom International, a French boat builder that recently introduced an 18-foot catamaran with hydrofoils that's even beachable, thanks to retractable rudders and foils.
Dieter Loibner had a chance to check out this fast cat at the Düsseldorf boat show and shows off some of the cool features of the Flying Phantom in the following short video. We guarantee it will make you want to go fast.
Once you've had a chance to watch the video, read the feature, Foil-No-Foil? No Question for Flying Phantom on the boats.com Blog.
