Porta bracket outboard mounting system

Jack plates have long been used on saltwater fishing boats that access skinny water,  because they allow an outboard engine to be raised straight up or down (reducing draft) versus being tilted, which throws water upward, not straight back. Much like a jack plate, but different in its design, the Porta Bracket  is a sort of hybrid jack plate with hydraulics for easy and almost infinite trim control.

We had a chance to check out this cool system during a boat test, filming the Porta Bracket system in operation on a Dorado 30 center-console while under way.
