Description
The Benello C&C 37 was the result of the cooperation between the elite Italian boat builder, Benello and one of the top design firms in the world, Cuthbertson and Cassian. The aim was a luxurious cruiser with a good turn of speed.
"The comfort of a Rolls Royce and the speed of a Porche." This was the marketing slogan of Benello on the cover of the sales brochure of the C&C 37.
In my opinion they succeeded. The C&C 37 has a traditional, but spacious and practical interior. She also has a good turn of speed coupled with easy handling (a very light, responsive helm) and comfortable motion at sea (no slamming on the waves, pitching, or a jerky motion side to side).
Alboran is ready to sail. We sail several weeks and weekends with family and friends this summer ib the Ionian islands. All systems work. She was launched in Ferbrary when the engine had a full service and the bottom was sanded back to gelcoat and antifouled.
Alboran is currently in Vlicho bay on Lefkas island. She has her own mooring that can be taken over by the next owner if desired.

Sistemazioni
Very traditional layout. They did not try to cramp as many cabins and berths as possible into the boat. As a result, the interior feels spacious and airy, all the berths are at least 2 meters long. Huge V berth in the forward cabin. Enclosed head with Jabsco manual toilet and sink with fresh water on port side, hanging locker opposite. Folding table in the main salon with two settees that are both very comfortable, wide single berths. All the cushions are extra thick with comfort foam. Lockers above and under the settees. The table is big enough for four adults. Further aft, generous nav station to port with wide quarter berth (a cosy double), galley with electric hob, a large cooler and sink to starboard. Engine under removable companionway steps.

Rig and sails:
Masthead sloop rig with oversized aluminium keel stepped Bamar mast, single spreader with double lower shrouds. Mechanical backstay tensioner with handle. Harken battcar system for mainsail. Slab reefing, 3 reef lines. Lazy jack. ProFurl roller furling for headsail. Standing rigging ca. 20 years old in servicable condition. Running rigging replaced as needed in good, servicable condition. 9 winches: 2 oversized Lewmar 58 ST genoa sheet winches, 2 Lewmar 40 ST spinnaker sheet winches, 2 Lewmar 30 ST halyard winches, 2 Barlow Australia winches, 1 Antal Italy reef winch
Sails: Fully battened mainsal in good condition. No tears, repairs etc. Roller furling genoa in good condition. Light wind genoa, working jib, storm jib - all in used, good condition. Two spinnakers (for light and strong wind) with associated gear.
Engine:
Fresh water cooled 30 hp Volvo Penta MD 2030C from 1997. In 2022 the engine was removed from the boat and reconditioned/rebuilt by an authorized Volvo service. Approximately 100 hours since rebuild. It works flawlessly. Starts at a quater turn, no smoking, no oil consumption etc. Straight shaft with Volvo seal. 3 blade folding propeller. Stainless steel fuel tank under cockpit sole, ca 100 l capacity. Engine control conveniently placed on steering pedestal, full engine service (oil, filters) in February 2025.

Electrical:
200 Ah house battery and 105 Ah engine battery, both new in 2024. Charged by engine alternator and shore power (15 A Victron Energy blue smart charger). 12 V and 220 V systems. Portable generator. Shore power with cable.
