So, you may have heard of the King of New York,
But have you heard of King Loon?
Well, if you have not, let me tell you, King Loon is your chance to be King (or Queen) of New York for a fraction of the cost of any other property in New York.
She’s currently on a mooring in New York.
I just did a quick Zillow Search for properties in that area, and the average price for a home is over 1.5 million dollars. If you want a place with a water view, that’s likely three to four times that amount.
Well, with King Loon, you can get a water view for a song!
But, I don’t want you to think that the King is just some floating condominium and cannot ply the oceans. Indeed she can ply the oceans! But, if you wanted to keep her in the harbor for a while and enjoy NYC for a song, then King Loon is a great option.
She’s been refitted by her current owner.
She has new navigation, and a hard dodger over the cockpit. New Mizzen mast, and bowsprit as well.
The boat is also equipped with a steering wind vane system too.
She’s easily sailed single-handed from the cockpit.
She’s also had a bunch of new things added below deck.
She has new black water holding tanks for her two heads (30 gallons for aft head, and 10 for the forward head--made of aluminum.), and new fuel tanks as well. The Bilge is dry as a bone.
She comes equipped with a generator, and solar panels that power her spacious freezer/refrigerator.
She’s also received new teak and mahogany for her cabinetry and floor, also new coverings for her bedding and cushions.
She could easily sleep six people below-deck, and has a spacious and functional galley and dining area. The galley sink is deep and capacious, and the oven and stove are in good shape as well.
She has a Yanmar engine which purrs like a kitten. You can barely hear it running from the helm.
She also comes with a great little dinghy: I call him “Little Buddy”! He comes equipped with a solid Suzuki outboard that starts right up.
The owner is selling King Loon and Little Buddy because he’s ready to move on to land adventures, and must, therefore, pass on the torch of King Loon to another owner.
As you may know Cheoy Lee’s come with a great pedigree. They are solid boats, capable of blue water adventures and circumnavigation.
She can be used as a commercial.charter boat as well.
