Description
NanSea is a classic Sparkman & Stephens designed boat with excellent sailing capabilities. The Tartan 34 is a coherent blend of past design experience and innovation. She features a high aspect ratio rig with high ballast/displacement ratio. Her weight distribution puts much of the required equipment (e.g. the engine) as close to center of balance as possible.
This is a centerboard boat which allows cruising and gunk holing in the shallowest of waters. The centerboard located completely below accommodations, houses a steel-cored fiberglass centerboard. The centerboard controls are easily accessible and operation from the cockpit permits optimum trim under any conditions. The rudder is a skeg attached stainless steel-reinforced fiberglass with a sharp trailing edge.
Accommodations on the boat feature 6'2" headroom carried all the way forward. Accommodations are for 6 persons with long, large berths. Enclosed Head features a composting toilet which eliminates all odors and the need for pump out.
The cockpit measures 9'3" fore and aft within the coamings with room after the helmsman for main sheet handling. Overall this is a boat that provides an opportunity for great daysailing or extended cruising.
