Description

Meet Destiny, a beautifully maintained 1978 C&L Explorer 45 cutter located in La Paz, Baja California Sur, recognized for her classic Stan Huntingford design, exceptional build quality, and warm, handcrafted teak interior. Often mistaken for a wooden yacht thanks to her distinctive plank-lined fiberglass hull, Destiny blends traditional charm with the strength and durability of hand-laid fiberglass construction.

Professionally cared for by her third owner since 2004 and cruising the Sea of Cortez since 2005, she offers a remarkably solid, insulated, and quiet interior featuring hand-rubbed teak joinery, arched spruce overhead, and a glowing teak-and-holly sole. Her full-keel design with cutaway forefoot ensures a stable, forgiving ride and delightful performance in 5–20 knots, ideal for bluewater passagemaking or extended cruising.

With a spacious cockpit, two private cabins, two heads, a fully equipped galley, generous tankage, updated navigation electronics, solar power, recent bottom paint (2023), and a comprehensive sail inventory, Destiny is a rare opportunity to own a true offshore-capable cruising classic in turnkey condition.

Priced attractively and already located in one of the best cruising grounds in the world, she's ready for her next adventure. Listed exclusively with La Paz Yachts, the trusted experts in yacht ownership in Mexico, ready to help you make your cruising dreams a reality!
