Description
Cascade 44 High Side Sailboat – Never in Saltwater, Launched for the first time in 2017
This Cascade 44 High Side is a rare opportunity to own a custom-finished bluewater cruiser with modern systems, a proven hull, and zero saltwater exposure. The solid fiberglass hull and deck were originally laid up in 1978 by Yacht Constructors (Cascade Yachts) in Portland, Oregon. In 2007, the current owner acquired the unfinished hull and undertook a meticulous, ground-up build inside a heated facility at his home — a multi-year project completed in 2017, when the boat was launched for the first time.
Every major component was installed new, including wiring, plumbing, standing rigging, mast, steering, navigation electronics, and interior finish work. The hull and stern were professionally extended two feet, increasing waterline length and improving both performance and interior volume. The bottom exterior was refinished with five coats of undercoat and two coats of Coval Molecular Coating for long-term protection.
Notably, this vessel has never left the Columbia River and has never seen saltwater, resulting in excellent system preservation and minimal corrosion risk.
