Description
This 1980 CSY 44’ Walkthrough is an extremely capable bluewater sailing machine. The CSY 44’ Walkthroughs are sought-after sailboats, mainly because of their walkthrough configuration, and also because of their solid fiberglass (non-core) construction.
Key features of KarMa include:
Solar
Battleborn Lithium
Spectra Water maker
Updated navigation electronics
Built-in air conditioner
New bottom paint 2025
All new Groco bronze seacocks and throughhulls
Survey performed February 2025 available upon request
The walkthrough design provides a below-deck walkway from the main salon back to the aft master stateroom and also forward to the v-berth. The forward cabin has both a private bath and large separate shower.
This vessel has a comfortable, fully enclosed cockpit with a hard top, with ample room for guest visiting. There are two longitudinal bench seats, with cushions, long enough for sleeping, and an ample bench seat aft of the central binnacle.
The walkthrough configuration includes a stand-up engine room with a workbench, and a main cabin navigation station/table to port. The engine room has massive parts and tools storage. In addition, a large access door on the other side of the engine gives complete access to both sides of the engine. No squirming into tight spaces to tighten a belt or change out a filter!
The galley is to starboard and includes a side-loading refrigerator/freezer in the passageway leading aft to the master stateroom. The aft section of the main cabin salon roof is raised, adding headroom below and increasing visibility through four large windows.
The boat is outfitted with a large fiberglass box on the stern deck suitable for fuel and gas storage.
When not under sail, the boat is powered by a 75 hp Yanmar diesel engine (3439 hrs) with a Borg Warner transmission pushing a Velvet drive.
The slip at Halifax Harbor Marina is negotiable pending marina approval.
This boat has been well maintained by the current owner and is in very nice condition for her age. In the last 5 years, this boat has been to the Bahamas 3 times and the Florida Keys 3 times. Since taking ownership in 2020, the current owner has made many improvements, including a new solar/lithium system, a new Edson steering cable and chain, and a new Raymarine chart plotter with transducer and speed wheel. See the full list of specifications for complete details on the many upgrades.
Don't miss this opportunity to own a classic, well-constructed yet updated sailing vessel. If you are looking for a completely “cruise ready” sailboat perfect for living aboard and exploring the Caribbean, and a boat capable of sailing around the world, look no further than this boat!
