Description
The Passport 45, Center Cockpit Ketch is designed by Doug Peterson and built by Peter Hoyt who exported his yachts from Taiwan, she is a sailing yacht that performs in all conditions. Top rated performer with regards to speeds, durability, and comfort.
This translates into a wonderful opportunity to own one of the most respected blue water cruising boats around! She is a full keel vessel that can cover many safe blue water sailing nautical miles.
She has a spacious layout with full Galley, two beautiful staterooms and a comfortable Salon with extraordinary storage in all areas for long blue water voyages or live aboard.
Her Center Cockpit is the center of command and a wonderful area to relax and enjoy the days and evenings. This area is protected with a semi-enclosed top, and makes cruising comfortable under the sun or when in heavy weather. This is an excellent opportunity for you to bring your bags and get aboard to sail away in the various locations of Mexico or US. Now’s the time to start your adventure!
Accommodations
The whole below deck area has been very tastefully maintained. She has beautiful glossed teak floors, louvered and plain cabinetry and curved rails, in typical ‘Passport’ style. The varnish is highlighted with white paintwork, giving a very light and airy feel. The worksurfaces, tabletop and shower area are of a neutral cream and white ‘Corian’ surface. All the head linings in the sleeping areas have been replaced.
As you come down the ladder from the cockpit, facing the bow into the living area, you will notice the spacious headroom in excess of 6 feet and the eye-catching butterfly hatch.
To port is the U-shaped galley and to starboard, the chart table. This area flows into the L shaped settee and table to port with more seating to starboard. There is plenty of storage under the seating, in the cupboards and recesses throughout the galley and salon. This area is cooled by marine air conditioning and by opening the door, is directed towards the stateroom.
Continuing through the salon door towards the bow you come to the shower room. This has a self-contained shower with glass door, manual head and a stainless-steel basin set in marble. There is a mirror above the sink, an electrical point and cupboard storage.
Opposite the heads is an office area with drawers below the desk, shelves and cupboards on the wall along with tall cupboards either side.
Finally, you come to the very spacious V berth which has access to the chain locker, cupboards either side and storage below the bed. 2 prisms enable the light to shine through.
Going aft through the door by the chart table, you pass into the workshop area. The workshop has a metal work surface with a fixed vice. There is plenty of storage for tools and equipment in cupboards and drawers both above and below the worksurface. Opposite there are several doors enabling easy access to the engine area and fuel lines.
Beyond the workshop you will enter the stateroom which has a large wardrobe and various cupboards. Below the extremely large, raised bed is further storage, accessed from under the mattress and by way of a small door.
On the port side is a door leading to a head and washbasin with power point, shaving mirror and mirrored cabinets. The stainless-steel sink is set in marble, matching the forward shower room.
Leading from the head is a door to the ‘bodega’. This area contains a majority of the electrical equipment for running the boat including: the inverter, charger, refrigeration compressors, navigation hub, water pumps, heater, manual bilge pump and engine spares etc. Doors on the starboard side provide access to the Racor fuel filters, fuel pump and additional access to the engine.
