Description
In the fine 1980s, Studio Vallicelli was one of the great collaborators of Comar. In this role,
in 1988, it signed a gem, an exceptional Three-quarter Tonner. It is the Comet 333, a
hull that, in design and rigging, aims to race before anything else. However, Comar
wants to meet the needs of cruising, and it outfits it as a small cruiser,
ensuring generous internal spaces and comfort. Despite this, the 333 continues to race.
Not for nothing will it also be produced in a special racing version for the first
edition of the Giro d’Italia a Vela in 1989.
After the Comet 12, Andrea Vallicelli was entrusted by Comar of Forlì with the design of the Comet 333, for which he used a
program capable of simulating wave motion on the computer. Characterized by significant volumes, slightly accentuated lines, and a good
length/width ratio, this IV Class Ior has a partially balanced rudder, a cast iron Naca bulb, and rigging with a headsail
at the top of the mast.
Interior description: The interiors include a double cabin at the stern and a double cabin at the bow, and a central area with a kitchen to
starboard, a chart table, and a bathroom to the left, followed forward by the saloon. Here there are two sofas (the one to starboard in a “C” shape), a central table,
and numerous wall shelves. The sail locker is at the stern, in a large locker that flanks the cabin.
