Description
The Moody 28 is a modern, well built cruiser with good performance and handling under both power and sail. This particular example is beautifully presented and benefits from over £40,000 of replacements and improvements over the past two years. Very nice family cruiser, presented in excellent order, ideal for exploring the East Coast.
Accomodation
The accommodation offers up to six berths in two cabins and saloon with good headroom throughout.
V berth to forward cabin with infill creating a double berth with storage above and below. Escape hatch to foredeck. Saloon with settee berths to port and starboard side with storage above and below and drop leaf table with bottle stowage to centre. Navigation area and chart table to port. Galley to starboard side, stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised mixer tap, Plastimo Neptune 2000 gimbled two burner gas cooker with oven and grill, large top loading cool box and plenty of storage. Heads to port with Jabsco marine toilet (2023) and washbasin with hot and cold mixer tap/pull out shower and hatch. Aft cabin with double berth, opening portlight to transom and storage locker. Teak and holly cabin floor, curtains. LED interior lighting. Upholstery replaced 2023. Webasto diesel fired warm air heating (new 2023)
Mechanical and Electrical
Located abaft the companionway. Volvo Penta 2002 18hp diesel engine. Electric start. Shaft drive to fixed two blade propeller. Raw water cooled. Single lever engine control. Cruising speed 6 knots. Maximum speed 7 knots. Rope cutter. Webasto heating fitted 2023. Propeller, shaft, coupling, rope cutter and stern gland all replaced November 2023. Full engine service 2025.
Alternator charging to 2 x 12 volt batteries, engine battery replaced 2023

Built in 1987 by Marine Projects of Plymouth to a design by Bill Dixon. White GRP hull with aluminium toe rail. White GRP superstructure with moulded non slip to decks. Cast iron bilge keels. Tiller steering to skeg hung rudder. Aft self draining cockpit. Self draining anchor locker. Sea cocks replaced Dec 2023. Windows and hatches replaced late 2023. Antifouled and anodes 2025.
