Description
Contest 44 (1997) – A True Dutch Bluewater Classic
The Contest 44 (1997) is a solid, classic luxury cruiser that perfectly blends elegant Dutch craftsmanship with intelligent design. Built for offshore sailing, she offers a stable and comfortable ride, with ample sail and engine power for safe and enjoyable cruising in all conditions.
Designed for bluewater cruising, the Contest 44 emphasizes comfort, seaworthiness, and safety at sea. She is not a racer, but provides a smooth, confident motion even in heavy weather — easily handled by a crew of two.
SY DIVA has been well cared for and meticulously maintained throughout her life.
Her dark green topsides are beautifully finished and in excellent condition, complementing her timeless lines. She features a well-kept teak deck, updated navigation electronics, and three electric winches, along with a hydraulic mainsail system for effortless sail handling.
Powered by a robust Volvo Penta TMD31L (100 hp) with straight shaft drive. The installation features a thrust bearing and universal joint, allowing the use of soft engine mounts. Combined with a silky-smooth TwinDisc gearbox and MaxProp propeller, the result is a quiet, low-vibration engine setup.
Her electrical system has been upgraded with generous battery capacity — including both gel and lithium house banks. A powerful 24V bow thruster ensures easy maneuvering in tight marinas. Overall, she is an exceptionally well-equipped and capable yacht, ready for new adventures.
