Introducing the Able Apogee 50, a remarkable 1998 Offshore Racer/Cruiser that combines performance, safety and comfort. With an overall length of 51 feet, this monohull features a sleek fiberglass hull designed for both speed and stability. The fin keel enhances its sailing capabilities, making it an excellent choice for adventurous sailors. Ā Mara is hull number 8 of 9 built by Able Marine and the only one with three staterooms. Ā She is well suited for short handed sailing whether it be the Bermuda 1-2 or circumnavigating the globe! Ā Now under the care of her third owner, it is easily seen that she has been well looked after. Ā Always maintained and constantly upgraded, Mara is ready for her next owners to continue the adventure she was born to do!
Accommodations
The Able Apogee is designed to be a capable offshore sailing vessel. Ā When you step aboard you immediately realize you are on a boat designed to safely take you to sea. Ā The tall lifelines, cabin-top handrails and stainless steel safety bars make you feel secure as you move about the deck at sea. Ā Her cutter rig gives you more options for changing conditions. Ā The high sided cockpit keeps crew safe on watch. Ā The interior is no different as it is designed to keep her crew safe when moving about in inclement weather. Ā The rich cherry interior with teak and holly sole let you know you are still aboard a proper yacht.
Starting forward is a private stateroom with en-suite wet head. Ā The offset double berth has a filler cushion to make a large V-berth. Ā The hull ports give plenty of natural light while her large overhead hatch supplies plenty of fresh air. Ā There are also two dorade vents to keep fresh air circulating. Ā Storage is divided between drawers under the berth, lockers outboard, hanging lockers and shelving.
The main salon is next aft with a single settee on starboard and an L-shaped settee on port. Ā There is abundant storage here with 5 drawers forward on starboard, lockers outboard on each side and shelving above. Ā Natural light is provided by 4 hull port lights and an overhead hatch. Ā The centerline table has storage inside as well!Ā
The U-shaped galley is aft to port. Ā The galley features double stainless steel sinks, a top loading freezer, top and front loading fridge, four burner Force 10 stove with oven and a microwave oven. Ā Plenty of counter space and lots of well though out storage complete this space. Ā Natural light is provided by an additional hull port light.
The nav station is opposite the galley. Ā A large desk surface, chart drawer and two deep drawers and swing out stool make this a navigators dream! Ā The ships main electric distribution panel is directly across, mounted in the galley island. Ā A hull port provides natural light.
The guest head is located aft of the nav station on starboard. Ā The head features a separate shower stall, vanity, sink, electric head and storage. Ā There is additional access to the aft cabin.
The starboard guest cabin is just aft of the head. Ā It features a double berth with drawers beneath and shelves outboard. Ā There is a seat, hanging locker and natural light is provided by an hull port light. Ā There is direct access to the guest head from here.
The port goes cabin features upper and lower single bunks with lee cloths. Ā There is storage in drawers and a hull port light provides natural light. Ā There is access to the batteries from here. Ā A watertight door separates this cabin from the workshop and machinery spaces.
The workshop and machinery spaces are separated by a large watertight door from the port guest stateroom. Ā There are shelves outboard for tools and supplies.
