Cruising comfort on the water is what this Gemini Cat is all about. Everything is plain and simple. Comfortable living/dining space, galley, sleeping accommodations (3 separate double beds), and the single head with pull-out shower. Go into shallow waters other sailboats can't. The centerboards were replaced with asymmetric centerboards found on the newer MC model from Chesapeake Light craft in 2018. The new board shape improves windward performance by generating lift. They are coated in a barrier coat and 5 coats of bottom paint. They are new construction
The boat is easy to see just outside of Annapolis, MD.
Blue Water Sailing.org:
After a 2008 Pacific crossing, the owner of a Gemini exclaimed, “the catamaran hull performs flawlessly in open blue water as well as the light winds of the Kona coast … the forward stateroom is queen sized .. the main cabin seats six … plenty of height in the full head with shower.” Great sailing and lots of living space – what’s not to like?
The Gemini is the most popular cruising catamaran in the world with more than 1000 hulls manufactured over nearly 30 years. While most of those hulls are in service as coastal cruisers, many have crossed the oceans. In 2001 the owner, designer and builder of the Gemini catamaran series, Tony Smith, sailed a new Gemini 105Mc across the Atlantic Ocean for a delivery to Southampton, England topping out at 18 knots of speed (surfing down the face of heavy seas). Many more of these adventures are chronicled in the Gemini Gems magazine (print and electronic versions) or the very active Gemini Yahoo forum.
A large cockpit with wheel steering and plenty of room for an afternoon picnic greats the sailor ascending the aft stairs. A generous, hard foredeck is surrounded by a stainless pulpit for the entire bow and lifelines running along the somewhat narrow side decks. With only about 8000 pounds of displacement, anchor chain and rode need not be overly heavy. Sailing a boat with such light displacement across the ocean requires careful consideration of heeling angles and reefing. Anything above seven degrees of heel means it’s time to reduce sail.
Returning to the cockpit allows the sailor access to the interior. Starting at the same level as the cockpit sole, immediately one is greeted by a salon table that comfortably seats four and even eight in a squeeze. Descending a few steps to the left and moving forward is found the head and shower. Hot water is provided by a propane driven instant heater, like an RV or many European homes. The big advantage is that if you have water in the two 35 gallon fresh water tanks, then you can have hot water.
In the aft part of both hulls are two births. The master cabin is in the starboard hull forward, featuring a queen sized bed. There is a tremendous amount of storage for dry goods in the galley and a propane driven refrigerator (using the ammonia cycle instead of a compressor).
The Gemini is mainly driven by the roller furled genoa and somewhat small main, though many sailors add screechers, asymmetrical spinnakers and jibs to their sail lockers. Each hull has a cable driven, hand-cranked centerboard that can be completely tucked into a trunk in the hull, reducing the draft (assuming the rudders are likewise raised), or dropped three feet into the water, dramatically improving upwind performance. While most sailing and motoring can be accomplished with both boards let half-way down, the ability to adjust the boards to wind, current, sailing or anchoring conditions is one of the Gem’s great strengths.
Walk Around the Deck
You can see how the 34' Catamaran is a very stable sailing yacht with a wide footprint and bridge clearance of 47' designed by Tony Smith to sail fast and safe in the local areas as well as off-shore. The Gemini 105M is known for crossing the Pacific and other Blue Water environments. Life Lines surround the hulls to help keep the crew and skipper on board.
On the bow sprit is an anchor with plenty of chain stored in the anchor locker n between the bow cleats on either hull is the roller furling genoa wrapped in the black sunscreen protector. There's a storage locker forward on port for additional storage space.
There's a third cleat for docking or anchoring centerline which can be used for Docking or hold the anchor line. The rest of the foredeck is open and flush. There is an inner forestay chainplate set to stabilize the mast if needed.
Along the front face of the cabin-top is a large tinted window into the Master Cabin
There are twin forward facing hatches to give natural light and ventilation to the main cabin below.

Walk Around Below
Before going down the companionway you notice that the door itself has multiple options with screen or glass opening and inviting you to the Centerline Dining/Lounge area with comfortable seating for up to perhaps 8 - 10 people
On port side aft is one of the aft cabins with twin bed, shelf, storage nook, locker, and opening port.
Just forward is the Nav Station with desk with opening desk top. Under the desk top is the main Battery Switch,. Battery Charger, and under the lid are 2 Batteries.
Moving forward on the Port side towards the head on your right are narrow shelves on your right (the back of the centerline couch) for additional storage of odds and ends behind mirrored glass siding panels. On the left is a large storage area under a lifting lid and forward is a drawer and shelf.
All the way forward on the port side is the head with manual pumping head, sink and pull out shower head
Now moving over to the Starboard Side, aft is the other aft cabin, mirroring the one on port with storage nook, hanging locker, fan, and opening port.
Just forward of that is the main galley area with the 2 burner stove and oven along the outside wall. The stainless sink with large and smaller sink and open counter space with opening top for a storage area under. On the left (the back of the couch) are storage shelves with sliding doors. (plenty of storage area for just about anyone).
Moving forward, you move into the master suite with a centerline Queen size Double Berth looking through the tinted glass sky light. On the right is a nice changing area, storage shelves, mirror and drawers for the owners cabin.
Fans, 110 outlets, and lights are placed throughout the boat to best suit all the living spaces.
