Paikea is a very lively yacht to sail as even small gusts of wind
affect the yacht.
Sailing her feels more like a dinghy than a yacht of this size. In the Pacific, I have
reached top speeds while surfing down the wave of 24 knots.
In the Mediterranean, I reached a maximum of 17 knots.
In planning with Luca Brenta and Lorenzo Argento, I placed great emphasis on simple
handling, high performance under sail, and a minimum of comforts.
One of the strengths of Paikea is the carbon mast, to which the spreaders form a
part. This results in a very low weight and enormous stability, along with
a low center of gravity, meaning more speed.
