Description
- CATANA 471 OCEAN CLASS
This Catana 471 Ocean Class was refurbished in 2024/2025.
- Construction
A Great Balance
The Catana 471 offers a design that combines performance and comfort with high-quality construction and finishes. It can be considered one of the fastest cruising catamarans on the water, especially upwind. It is a high-performance cruiser.
This model can be considered a classic catamaran.
Designed by Christophe Barreau, an naval architect famous for his numerous excellent designs of fast catamarans, from the Windelo 50 to the Outremer 51.
The 471 remains a very popular vessel on the used market. One of the reasons these boats remain so popular is that they were built to last.
Catana manufactured this model between 1997 and 2007, and from 2003 it was marketed as the 47 Ocean Class.
The salon of the Catana 471 can accommodate up to ten people, and the ocean view can be enjoyed even when seated at the table.Â
A double cabin with a large bed and two gigantic portholes offer a superb sea view from the berth as well as from the bathroom located forward in the hull.Â
The very spacious passageway is fitted out with a generous variety of cupboards and hanging lockers.Â
The cockpit is vast. Two offset and raised helm stations make sail trimming easy and allow the helmsman to keep an eye on the boat and its crew all of the time.Â
Mainsail maneuver and reefing are all handled by a central electric winch on the aft beam.Â
With the totally flush deck there are no ropes or hatches to get in the way. Circulation is easy, because the deck is completely flat and free of pitfalls.Â
The very tight trampoline net is the perfect place for a siesta.
Equipped with two reliable Volvo inboard engines, each providing 55 horsepower, this boat promises a smooth and powerful cruising experience.Â
