A WORD FROM THE AGENT: Stunning example of the immensely popular but rarely available Leopard 42.
We already sold this wonderful Leopard 42 in 2022 and she is now back on the market! Her previous owners, a couple from the US with a background in engineering, had sailed around the world for 8 years before they decided to go back to land life. This wonderful and immaculately presented yacht had caught our eyes long before they decided to sell, and it was an honour when they approached the NYM team to represent then.
Purchased after only a few days on the market by a local resort owner who wished to enjoy exploring the Fijian islands when able to take some time of work, she was imported in Fiji, making her a proper Fijian vessel able to offer her next owner a slice of highly desirable paradise without having to worry about leaving after the 24 months authorised tax exemptions. Vai Tuki has a permanent berth at Naisoso Marina, close to Nadi International Airport, a convenient spot if commuting to and from your home country to hop on board and set off for the islands. This berth can be passed on to her new owners.
Designed with luxurious independence for long periods of time away from land, Vai Tuki is energy efficient with her 2100w of solar (new generation interfaced feeding cells, which also capture energy from water reflection), 1200w lithium batteries (gas-free safe model for aviation and marine use) and state of the art controllers.
Luxurious huge 113l/h Watermaker which runs quietly in the forward lazarette and allows you to fresh water wash your decks without a second thought.
Newly re-powered and fuel efficient 2018 Yanmar 39HP which have the advantage to be mechanically run instead of the whimsical electronic heads, which make them inappropriate for world cruising, where in case of trouble good diesel mechanics can be found anywhere, but electronic specialist less so.. And in keeping with the previous owner’s engineer background, this boat was deliberately chosen because it was one of the rare modern catamarans in the world available with a shaft drive, which if common on Superyachts cats, have actually become a rarity on smaller yachts.
The shaft drive on Vai Tuki is of stainless steel, is free of salt deposit and pitting, and is fitted with a dripless seal, so you can have a bilge just as dry and clean as if you had a saildrive… but without the headache of a sail drive to maintain.
Vai Tuki was never chartered in her life, bareboat or skippered, however her current owners had a tentative plan to put the boat in charter as part of their resort portfolio, but never did as they were too busy to undertake the work involved with recruiting crew and managing customers. They did do the intensive work (lengthy and costly) to get Vai Tuki licensed for charter work though. This is an added bonus and excellent venture option for her new owners, Vai Tuki has an approved MSAF commercial license should you wish to use the vessel as a skippered charter in Fiji, a difficult certificate to obtain and in an area with a huge demand from tourism and where current charter options are currently limited and already at maximum capacity.
Please read on for the full inventory and watch our 2 detailed video features, the first one filmed in location at the time of listing on the 25t of June 2022, and the one filmed just prior to going back on the market August 15th, 2025. This has a mine of info, a full view of the interior, down into the engine room, the decks, hatches, etc.
For a bit of info about ourselves, we are a boutique-style brokerage devoted to high quality cruising yachts and to the live-aboard cruising community. Ex- cruisers ourselves we just strive to help others begin their journey on the ocean.

Our team can organise a private video or in person viewing with you as well as have all the time in the world to answer your questions, put you in touch with the owners if you wish, assist with organising your visit, purchase, delivery home if needed, insurance, berthing, crewing, etc.
A WORD FROM THE OWNERS:
"My partner and I had been looking at yachts for nearly a year before we saw "Vai Tuki" at Vuda marina in Fiji. She was previously named "Imagination" and we knew as soon as we saw her that she was the boat for us. Vai Tuki had all the features we wanted and we had great plans and aspirations for travel throughout the Fiji islands. She was never chartered, and had the look and feel of a much loved vessel. We are only the third owners of Vai Tuki, having purchased her from an American couple who owned her for many years, sailing her from the east coast of the US and on to the Pacific. We had very limited sailing experience when we bought Vai Tuki, but with the help of local captains, we became more proficient and confident taking her anywhere in Fiji. We cruised throughout many of Fiji's most beautiful islands, meeting people, traveling with friends and family, diving, and living the life we had always dreamed of. But then several changes in our lives caused us to reassess. First, my partner and I thought we had shaken off the shackles of jobs, but then were both drawn back into long working assignments. That greatly reduced the time we could spend on Vai Tuki. Then, in January of 2025, I had a health scare and had to go to India for a heart procedure. Those two things led us to the regretable decision to sell Vai Tuki. We simply don't use her enough anymore to make it worthwhile for us. It's a shame for a yacht like Vai Tuki to sit unused in a marina.
Vai Tuki was always privately owned, and has some great features that were added by the previous owner. It has a custom built davit, that allows the dinghy to be carried without reducing space in the outdoor saloon. It also has a massive amount of solar power and battery storage, which has never required us to ration electricity, even on successive cloudy days. The layout of the engine is also a huge benefit. Because the two diesel engines sit under the two aft cabin berths, they are well protected, safe from flooding, and yet, when the mattresses are removed, easily accessible for any maintenance and repairs. No contorting your body into tiny spaces. As with some other catamarans, the large trampoline area is wonderful. Still like new, this area is where we have spent many a sunset and early morning for our coffees and glasses of wine. Operation and repair manuals are neatly organised on the boat for all major equipment. The boat was surveyed by MSAF (Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji) and authorised for 19 passengers and 2 crew.", Dale H, Fiji, August 2025

ELECTRICAL
Solar:
- Power generation is well handled by 6 LG NeON-2 5th generation 60-cell solar panels (2020). These panels provide over 2100 total watts. 4 of the panels are bi-facial 335w panels (bi-facial panels collect solar energy from both the top and bottom sides. The bottom can collect up to 30% additional power from relfected sunlight off the water. The 335w rating is only counting the top side capability). Two of the panels are 350w single sided panels mounted on the hard top.
The electrical system also includes the following:
- 3 X Outback Power FLEXmax 80 MMPT charge controllers (80A each)
- Outback Power communications hub and Mate 2 monitoring display

A WORD FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNERS (July 2022)
"We have owned and lived aboard since 2008. This is a four cabin, four head version that has had numerous upgrades over the years. Our refits primarily focused on critical systems required for a well-founded blue water cruiser; such as, power generation, fresh water making, refrigeration, and safety. Our home has over 2100 watts of solar feeding 1200 amp hour lithium batteries. Three separate Outback FLEXmax 80 MMPT charge controllers provide redundancy and sufficient, silent power without the need to run a generator or noisy wind generators. We replaced and upgraded the Yanmar engines in 2018 and they currently have less than 650 hours each. We installed a 30 gallon per hour Cruise RO watermaker with dual 40 inch membranes to meet our fresh water needs. The boat was painted with Awlgrip by Hinckley Yachts in Stuart Florida in 2015. This boat has been a wonderful and comfortable home for many, many years. She was designed for ocean crossings and outfitted for safety and comfort. "
