Description
We are selling our beloved Zenia in Panama because we simply don't have enough time for sailing, taking care of our two horses and our careers in Switzerland. We’ve spent the time of our lives on Zenia, cruising the Caribbean for six months. It’s a great boat to feel at home: very spacious, with high ceilings - we are 1.92 and 1.88 and can stand upright everywhere.
It’s great for working remotely from paradise: it has a starlink maritime flat dish installed (high performance internet also off shore and at sail), two large solar panels, 5 batteries from 2023 and an extra mobile power generator as backup. A watermaker installed in 2023 makes life aboard very convenient: shower whenever you want and never run out of water.
There is lots of storage space for diving equipment, kitewing, wetsuits etc.. The master cabin layout with extra legroom makes you feel at home - it’s a totally different experience to charter boats. Zenia has also never been chartered. We are from Switzerland and the previous Owners were from Denmark and Germany: proud owners, always taking good care of the boat.
With all the comfort, Zenia is still a racing cruiser with great sailing experience, manoeuvrability and many sail trimming features. It’s as fast as a 50 feet classic hull and at the same time can turn almost on the spot in a harbour.
Recent Improvements:
5x Service batteries, new in 2023 (Varta AGM 110Ah)
1x Motor battery, new in 2023 (Carbone 102Ah CCA 900)
Starlink Maritime high performance, added new in 2023

Chain 60m + 30m anchor rope bought new 2023

All LED lights for interior and navigation, USB ports installed in all cabins
All through hull fittings new in 2023
Most ropes replaced in 2023
Mobile generator Honda EU10i new in 2023
Saildrive ring replaced with new one 2023
New fresh water pipes added 2023
10HP dinghy engine from 2021
Alternator added new in 2023
Sprayhood refurbished in 2023
Lifelines replaced in 2023
Hatch lifters new in 2023
Spare new VHF radio
What we truly love about this boat:
Master cabin with extra leg room
High ceilings, great for large people
Large teak deck
2 Large solar panels (producing ca. 2kWh per day in avg.)
Separate shower room
Displays at mast (look forward while sailing and see wind direction, speed etc.)
Inox grill
All hatches are dry, no leaks
What we have on our maintenance wish list:
Old Sails (main sail has a patch, foresail has stains)
Old life raft (has not been serviced in a while)
No switch for bilge pump (manual control works well)
No lazy bag
Dinghy in “true kit” / cat shape: fast and lightweight but suboptimal for towing
No David, but dinghy can easily be lifted and attached on top
No bimini, but large solar collectors and cover can be easily added when on anchor
What we would recommend to get done soon:
Replace cooking gas pressure regulator (spare part on board) and flexible tubes
Saildrive shaft needs to be replaced (spare part on board), current shaft has tiny scratches where drops of water can leak into the saildrive oil.
Toilet pump works but at only ca. 20% performance
Nice to have improvements:
Heating boiler is disconnected, missing a connection piece
Outboard speakers are not connected
Replace backstay (spare part on board)
Septic tank not connected
