WALK-THROUGH ABOVE and BELOW DECK
As you step aboard the Seawind 1000XL, you immediately appreciate the seamless transition from the spacious cockpit into the protected saloon, creating an expansive living area that's usually only found on larger vessels. If boarding from the stern from floating docks you will note the graceful flowing steps from either port or starboard side. Taking a quick walk around the deck you have full height stanchions and double life lines and to aid in departing the boat from the bow there is a wide set of stairs that drop down from beneath a hatch located between the two nets on the foredeck. Also to ad additional length when flying screecher or spinnaker there is fold down bowsprit.
Cockpit and helm
The cockpit is well laid out with aft seating that extends from port to starboard between the arch legs. The arch also supports the davits for the dingy, the mainsail traveler, and a propane BBQ grill all located beneath the arch with solar panels mounted on top side. Moving forward you will note dual helms all located at cockpit level offering excellent visibility whether on port or starboard tack as well as protection from the elements. The instrumentation is conveniently located at the helm making short handed sailing a breeze.
Saloon
The saloon features a very large comfortable U-shaped settee and table that can easily be converted into a large berth by lowering the dining table and adding inserts. This area merges directly into the cockpit, offering an open floor plan with now steps or door sills. In bad weather by closing the canvas curtain provides full weather protection. There are two forward opening windows providing ventilation and panoramic views.
Below decks (hulls)
When entering the port hull you are down three steps and to the right into the owners cabin. There is a large double berth which is located amidships with an additional V-berth further forward. There are beautifully finished cabinets for storage through out this cabin, with every inch of space utilized. Just aft of the owners cabin or to the left as you descend the steps is the large head with toilet, sink and shower. (at this time there is a composting toilet but the original electric toilet comes with the boat and all the plumbing and holding tank is still in place if you wish to change it back).
Entering the starboard hull and moving forward is the galley. This space was well laid out and is extremely functional with ample counter space and storage. A two-burner propane stove, a large two-bowl sink, and full-height cupboards which are beautifully made of hard wood and plexiglass panels and a large top loading refrigerator and freezer.
There are two more double berths one located forward of the galley and the second located just aft of the steps at the rear of the boat.
