The 12 Days of Boating, day 6
On the sixth day of boating, my true love gave to me...
December 30, 2014
Yesterday was a "big" day for our holiday series (read 12 Days of Boating, day 5). Today we come back down to sea level to start the second half. And what better way to do that than to sing about the most popular boat type we know?
On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me
6 Center Consoles
5 Mega Yachts
4 cuddy cabins
3 jet boats
2 motor yachts
...and a Pontoon in a Pear Tree.

Here are six center consoles we've reviewed, clockwise from top left: Skeeter SX2250, Vanquish 24CC, Key West CC, Scout’s 210 XSF, Twin-Vee 29 Ocean Cat, Cobia 217 CC.
Center consoles are a common boat to see on lakes, rivers, streams, bays and oceans because they are so versatile. Although Lenny Rudow immediately thinks "fishing trip" when he sees one, I think "harbor cruise." Local fishermen use them as workboats, and these adaptable craft will basically do whatever water-based job is requested of them.
There are too many models to list here, so make sure to look over all the stories we've written about center consoles.
You can also read reviews about center consoles.
And if your true love is ready to buy, pass along a link to our center console listings—though since this list currently includes almost 20,000 boats, you might want to refine the search parameters first to home in on one you really want.
Thanks for making it to our halfway point, and make sure to come back tomorrow to see what day 7 will bring. You can also review our previous days of boating.
Editor's Note: Most of the holiday countdowns ended on December 25, but we chose to begin ours on that date in keeping with tradition. Stay tuned for more new and used boats to gawk at, ogle over, dream about—and maybe even buy. Because what better gifts could the wise men bring you than a platform for your next boating adventure?
