If you want to cruise your local waterway without being noticed, the 230SX from Stingray is not for you. With its brilliant red paint job and slinky lines, the 22-foot-8-inch-long, 8-foot-wide boat fairly screams for attention. Plus, with a MerCruiser big-block engine under the hatch it runs more than 60 mph.

That's not at all bad for a cuddy-cabin runabout. Inside the cabin itself, there's a V-berth for overnighting or just getting out of the elements. Cabin amenities include lights, a freshwater sink and an alcohol stove. For cabin ventilation and natural light, there's a large circular deck hatch.

Drivers will appreciate the tilt steering wheel and backlit instrumentation at the helm. Like the driver, the copilot is supplied with an adjustable bucket seat. For other cockpit passengers, there's a deep three-person bench. Maximum capacity is eight passengers or 1,850 pounds.

Aft of the bench is a one-person sun pad. A short step away is the integrated swim platform, which has a boarding ladder that folds into a recess.

The 3,449-pound boat rides on a 20-degree, deep-V "Z-Plane" hull. A number of MerCruiser and Volvo Penta engine packages up to 475 horsepower are offered.

Fuel capacity is 57 gallons. Freshwater capacity is three gallons.
